February Yarnstars - Helter Skelter Chunky Designer Challenge
February was all about our brand new Helter Skelter Chunky. Inspired by all things fairground, this yarn is available in five fab shades, featuring a black thread twist.
Our entrants all had to make something using just one ball in shade Tornado. We had some incredible entries, with the winning design being an innovative crocheted yarn bowl by Suzy McCormac using yarn to make something to keep your yarn in? Definitely a winner!!!
You can see all of the entries below, with links to their Ravelry pages and blogs.
WINNER: Suzy McCormac's crocheted nest yarn basket
This is such an amazing idea and can be made using just one ball! The lovely Suzy has been kind enough to let me share her pattern FREE of charge. Click here to download it so you can have a go yourself!
Runner up: mary ledwidge's helter skelter cable hat
Super snuggly, with a clever cable design. This hat would look fab with or without the bobble! Mary has also allowed us to use this as a free download! Thanks Mary!! Click here to download the pattern.

Perfect for spring jogging or dog walking, this cute design will keep your ears perfectly cosy!
Cygnet Yarnstars offers budding designers the chance to have a go at designing something using just one ball of our yarn. Group members are invited to apply for the challenge - we then select five entries at random who then get posted two balls of yarn - one to practice with and one to use in their design. The competitors then send their pics in with their patterns and we run a facebook poll where all group members get the chance to vote for their favourite. The winner then gets the choice of prize of a pack of 10 x 100g balls from our range.
You can join the Facebook group here to keep up to date with each month. If you would like to enter for future months, just message us on Facebook and we will be in touch if you are selected!!
Also, please feel free to use this group as a place to share your projects and to chat to other knitters and crocheters. Share the love <3
